…I use Scrivener for writing my novels. Before I get into why I love it, here’s what Tamsin Silver, author of The Curse of Billy the Kid. had to say about tools that she uses.
“I personally prefer using Word for my writing but a lot of authors I know love Scrivener. It really helps you organize your book and I’d recommend authors who are doing a very detailed world build and a lot of characters to consider it. Especially if you have a Mac. The program is for both Mac & PC, but most of the folks who love it have Macs and many who are not a fan have PC’s. No idea why, just an observation. My biggest recommendation for all writers though is ProWritingAid. This program is fantastic for helping you edit your work before submitting it to a publisher or agent. That said, if you want to save money (and don’t we all), I recommend that you don’t get it until the book is finished and you’ve done one or two full edits to the full book yourself. Mind you, nothing beats the use of a professional editor, but ProWritingAid can make a big difference.”
