When Sonja Dewing quit her job in 2014 and disappeared into the Amazon River basin for nine weeks, she was doing research for her fantasy novels. That journey through Inca ruins, myths, and living history sparked an award-winning series of novels (The Idol Maker Series) that blend adventure/thriller/fantasy with ancient legend. Named Best Author in New Mexico by the New Mexico Entertainment, Sonja has also earned numerous creative writing awards. She holds a degree in journalism from UNM. When she’s not writing, she’s hiking remote trails or lacing up her roller derby skates as Author of Pain.
